Il Mulino of the West Village is an old Italian classic serving some of New Yorks Very best cuisine. It focuses on the Abruzzi Region which sits between Rome and the Adriatic Sea. The shellfish, including lobster, and veal, including osso buco are superb. Il Mulino is classic Italian in every way. Hearty fresh ingredients and flavorful sauces enrich the dishes. The daily special selection is so vast there is almost no need to look at your menu. Of course the pastas are standouts in their own reign.
The dining room is intimate in a classic cozy way. The wine list is up to date with a great selection. The service staff is plenty and the food is spectacular. Reservations are not easy but well worth it. Don’t be surprised if you run into a head of state or celebrity while dining.
