Nestled in a long narrow nook on 9th Ave. in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen is Pure Thai Cookhouse. When you walk in expect about a 20 minute wait unless you arrive early. Seating is limited and it fills up fast. What you notice when you first walk in is the attentive staff and the small kitchen area to the left. There is great balance between hustle and unrushed service at the same time. The food comes out quick and fresh due to limited capacity. It is one of the most professional staff you can find in the area. Don’t expect fine dining service, but always an attentive staff. The cleanliness here is also something to take notice of.
Pure Thai Cookhouse serves authentic satisfying Thai cuisine. The Thai iced tea is prepared perfectly and comes in a large beer mug with crushed ice. It’s very cold, refreshing, and addictive. The chickens curry puffs and dumplings are truly authentic and flavorful. For the entrees the Ratchaburi crab and pork dry noodles are a house favorite, as well as the Pad Thai with shrimp which you can substitute for chicken, beef, pork, calamari, or vegetarian options. Thai cuisine encompasses 5 key flavors; sweet, salty, spicy, sour, and bitter. Pure Thai Cookhouse delivers all these flavors as harmoniously as can be.
