Do yourself a favor and reserve a table for Brunch at the Rainbow Room for some upcoming Sunday, and arrive with an empty stomach and high expectations. The array of delicious treats that await you will not disappoint, and will potentially require a second, third, even fourth trip around the buffet stations – but who’s counting?
The brunch at the Rainbow Room is a phenomenal experience for those accustomed to culinary and atmospheric extravagance, and it can make a true foodie out of even the most unseasoned palette. The 65th floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza affords diners captivating views of the city we love, and vintage chandeliers and decor solidify a sense of comfort amidst the old-world opulence. Often the weekends see a performance by a live jazz band, the members of which are dressed in full 1920s-esque attire, effectively topping off the experience with a lively musical backdrop.
There is a seemingly endless selection of the most heavenly cuisines from across the globe, so make sure to pace yourself and try a bit of everything. It is not uncommon for a Rainbow Room afternoon brunch to span well into the evening hours. You don’t want to miss out on the sushi bar, or the roasting station, or the foie gras, or the egg bar with fresh shaved truffle, or the risotto, or the charcuterie, or the crepes, or the dessert bar with fresh fruits and pastries and macaroons and meringues…and we are not even coming close to naming them all.
A warning for the more spontaneous brunch crowd- reservations are only accepted if made 60 days in advance. But trust us, this place is well worth the wait.
